Yay, I am so excited that I finished her socks now I can have some guilt free knitting!! yay! I also am learning to spin on a drop spindle and have made my first tiny skein ( do you say skeen of skane? skeen here) I have also dyed it blue, I will post pics in a bit, I am so excited to get back to knitting what I want and now spinning, having the MIL's socks done is just such a weight off, LOL...I will add pics of her socks too.. camera has to charge....

Well I am just not going to have time to get the socks done for the fair, but while I am kind of sad it's ok, because now I can relax and enjoy knitting my socks, and I can also finish my mother in law's socks, so hubby will get off my back. I am off the next 4 days, so I should have them done, LOL, today however I am moving all the bed rooms around, Jazzy is now in Ray's room, Ray is in our room, and we have moved to Jazzy's room, well it's still a work in progress but I don't have Jazzy's old room completely cleaned out, my little pack rat had a lot of trash but at least she is at school so she won't know what I tossed... down side her bed frame broke! I sat on her bed and the frame snapped, now I know I am over weight but I am not that fat! It's still functional as a bed, but it looks like crap, and I hate that.... but oh well, also this morning I was going to take a shower, but was suprised by this:

after I am done with the rooms I am going to rearrange the living room too...

Second choice pattern for the fair...

Well my second choice pattern for the fair is going well, I am on the heel of the first sock, now to just get going so I can get both done by 4pm on Wed. the 16th. I will post pictures when I get a chance. I also had my schedule changed at work, which I think is going to be a good thing, I am now working 4 ten hour shifts, with 3 days off, I am going to be off Sunday, Monday, and Fridays, not too bad. Well i am off to get ready for work, only 2 m ore fridays for me to work, Yay, it's also going to be nice to have a weekend day off, well have a good day everyone!

Well I am happy I finished the first sock for my fair pair, here are a few pics, please ignore the partially dressed baby, like I said I really do like them and they feel so nice on!,

but here is the problem, I am 10g shy of having enough yarn for the cuff, toes, and heel, so I am going to have to wait for some yarn to get shipped, and well wait for some money to buy the yarn, LOL.. and here I thought it was going so well...

While I wait I have started some Rivendell socks, so that if I don't get the yarn in time I will still have something to enter into the fair. I am so irritated I didn't weigh the yarn before hand, I just assumed it was enough, oh well live and learn...

This one is for the September challenge in the Sock Knitters Anonymous group, it's a mystery sock desgined by Nancy Bush, and Clue #1 is for the cuff, which was a lot of fun, it includes a vikkel braid which I have not done before here are a few pics...

My socks for the fair are coming along well also! I am on the heel of the first sock about to turn it, and I still just love how well they are coming along, I will have to get some more pics!

I am really enjoying knitting this pattern and it's going pretty quick. Although due to money and travel I am entering in my county fair and not the state fair, because I just don't have 30.00 to ship them back or the 4 hours to drive to pick them up, the county fair grounds are on my way to work... but it's still going to be fun to enter. I also have to finish my mother in law's socks, I am 3/4 of the way done on the second sock and yet I still can't seem to get going on them, although I do know once they are dong them I can just knit for me for a while with no guilt..

and lastly this morning here is a cool pic of a mushroom I took this morning.

The mushroom is growing in a tree in my front yard, I think its neat looking.

For just a bit, I have decided to enter a pair of socks in the State Fair, I was inspired by a lady on the Sockknitters group on Yahoo, I didn't know you could enter knitting into the state fair, and how fun is that, now it's like competitive knitting, LOL, and that is really right up my alley!! So now to find a patter that I can do, and do quickly, I have 2 weeks to get them sent in!

Yay! I cast on my first pair of 2-at-a-time socks, and I am really enjoying it! It's a lot of fun and so nice to know that when I am done I will have a pair and I won't have to work on the second sock! Here are some pics of the socks in progress...

One of the socks is a bit messy due to the fact that the yarn has now been frogged three times and I didn't get all the kinks out... hopefully I won't have to frog it again!

But sadly these are not for me they are for my mom for her birthday. She likes them and says they fit great. I used the Monkey pattern by Cookie A. The yarn is knitpicks handpainted stroll in the colorway Make Believe. here are a few pics..

Well it's been a bit hectic here, and I haven't had a lot of time for knitting ( GASP )but I did manage to get sock 1 of the second pair finished, LOL, now I have to work on a pair for my mother in law but I already have half of sock 1 of her pair done, but when I get that pair finished then I will be starting a pair for my mom for her birthday, after that I will have about a month where I get to knit for me, YAY! Also the baby has been sick for a few days, I am adding a pic of how pitiful he is when he doesn't feel good, it's so sad, he wanted to chill in the first pair of socks I made, oh and those were made using a pattern I got from a Paton's book and Deborah Norville's Serenity sock yarn in mint. The second pair is made from another paton's pattern the book is Sweet treats for your feet, or close to that, and it's the Lace sock pattern, the Yarn is Sock Ease in cotton candy, I like the Deborah Norville sock yarn, I am not overly thrilled with the sock ease, but I like it more on this pair than the I did on a different pattern that I frogged... so we shall see. I have also ordered some yarn from Knit picks and some harmony dpn's. I also have some jitterbug yarn that I can't wait to use. Ok I am now adding pics of a pitiful baby and my finished sock... they will, of course, be at the top...

Ok here is my current sock in progress...

It's from one of the pattons sock pattern books it's a lace patten but I don't think you can see it that well on the pic... and just to clarify for any who may have misunderstood my goal, I am not going to knit a pair of socks a day but instead I plan to knit 365 pairs with no time frame at the moment. Ok and since the baby is fussy I am going to post some cuteness and then take care of the kid.. this is one of my kittens that was born a week ago and it's in my husband's hand with the baby's hand in the pic too

Ok so I am not going to number all the days cause that would just get ridiculous!! I am almost to the heel on the first sock of pair number 2 and I really want to post pics but my batteries died in the camera so I will add pics tomorrow... I am really liking how this pair is turning out! I am still super excited to do this even if it takes me years, I just wonder what it will feel like to have it accomplished... it's late here and I want to get some knitting done, and tomorrow I am going to order some yarn.. going to keep a supply on hand so that I have it ready to go for the next pair... I am going to post pics tomorrow, oh but I do have a pic of pair one completed and on my feet!! Ugg not sure why it's at the top but oh well don't want to figure that one out now... night all!

Ok so I have a plan, an idea, well an undertaking of sorts, LOL. I love knitting, but really I love knitting socks, it calms me, makes me happy, and just puts me in a good mood! I love seeing them start as tiny little stitches on my DPNs ( I have used 2 circulars and magic loop, but prefer dpns ) and then just take shape into the socks. I loved the thrill I got when I successfully turned my first heel, and guess what, it didn't go away when I turned my second!! Ok so now that I have told you all about my passion for knitting socks here is my plan... I am going to knit a pair of socks for everyday of the year, now I don't mean I am going to knit a pair a day, no no that is too hard, LOL, I am going to knit 365 pairs of socks I don't know how long this is going to take, but I think it's going to be fun, and of course I am going to let any and all who are interested follow my progress here! Now I would like to have 365 different patterns but I am not sure if that is feaseable, LOL but if anyone has good pattern for socks I would love to see it.... I have one pair already done and I am going to take my hubby up on his idea to find a way to number them, like embroider a number on the toe or something, LOL.. oh and yeah I have to find a way to get hubby to buy all the yarn I am going to need.. not in one shot but still... LOL...
